Free Community Diabetes Screening — January 25th
In recognition of Tamil Heritage Month and our commitment to the health of our community, Dr. Kavitha Sivarajah Family Clinic is hosting a free diabetes screening camp on Saturday, January 25th, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
What Is Included — Completely Free
- Fasting blood glucose test
- HbA1c test (3-month blood sugar average)
- Blood pressure measurement
- BMI calculation and healthy weight guidance
- One-on-one consultation with a physician or nurse practitioner
- Take-home information kit on diabetes prevention in Tamil and English
Who Should Attend?
This screening is especially recommended for Tamil Canadians aged 35 and over, or anyone who:
- Has a parent or sibling with Type 2 diabetes
- Has been told their blood sugar is "borderline"
- Has not had a blood sugar check in the past year
- Is experiencing unexplained fatigue, frequent urination or excessive thirst
Location & Details
Walk-ins are welcome — no appointment needed. The camp will be held at our clinic premises in Scarborough. Tamil-speaking staff will be available throughout the day. Light refreshments will be provided.
Please fast for at least 8 hours before attending for the most accurate blood glucose reading. Water is fine to drink.
